Fully Qualified Mechanic

My twin sister just became a qualified mechanic! I am absolutely over the moon for her. She worked so hard to get to this point, and it is really lovely that she has finally achieved her dream. At the young age of twenty-five she is already incredibly skilled and has landed herself a full time job at one of the best car mechanic workshops in Perth.

My sister and I are very different, but that makes us who we are. My parents have always described us as yin and yang, the perfect pairing of people to create an all round perfect addition to the world. Where she liked playing with toy cars; I liked painting my nails. Funnily enough, our interests as children didn’t waiver when we became adults – I became a nail technician at twenty and she just became a mechanic. Within Midvale, where we have lived our whole lives and where we both work, there are no two people like us.

We moved out together five years ago and I have seen my sister in her happiest and saddest states since then. Yesterday when she became fully qualified, was the happiest I have ever seen her in my life. It made me the happiest I’ve ever been too. I will never forget the pure joy on her face.

My sister has worked so hard to get to this point. She works long hours and for very little pay, and yet she has loved every minute of it. I’ve never heard her complain about her job or complain when she’s done her fourth car aircon regas for the day. She has always just been genuinely happy to work in a field that she loves. Not many people inspire me, but she does. With her new qualifications she will finally feel secure in her job and can go to sleep every night knowing that she will get to do what she loves for the rest of her life.
